RF14-35mm F4 L IS USM

This lens offers ultra-wide-angle shooting with a minimum focal length of 14mm, as well as optimal performance in terms of image reproduction, operability, and robustness. Expanded wide-angle coverage is achieved by reducing the minimum focal length to 14mm, compared to the previous EF16-35mm F4L IS USM model, allowing photographers to take photos with a fuller sense of perspective. The in-lens IS mechanism provides camera-shake compensation as effective as a 5.5-stop*1 increase in shutter speed. When combined with the coordinated control of the camera’s in-body IS, this improves to up to 7.0 stops*2. Composition is easy, thanks to a minimum focusing distance of 0.2m. Another attractive feature is the high-precision AF with nano Ultrasonic Motor (USM). This is a truly versatile lens that can handle everything from landscape and architectural photography to snapshots and portraits.

RF15-35mm F2.8 L IS USM

The RF15-35mm F2.8 L IS USM is a large-aperture, ultra-wide-angle zoom lens with a minimum focal length of 15mm. The lens uses three glass-molded aspherical lenses and two Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) lenses to effectively compensate for various aberrations, and deliver clear, high image quality with excellent resolution from the center of the image to the periphery. Special coatings such as Subwavelength Structure Coating (SWC) and Air Sphere Coating (ASC) are used to significantly reduce the chance of lens flare or ghosting. An improved control algorithm for the optical IS and the use of the Dual Sensing IS provide optical image stabilization equivalent to a 5-stop* increase in shutter speed. This allows the user to shoot at slower shutter speeds in dark venues, and expands the potential for hand-held photography. It is suitable for architectural and landscape photography, as well as for portraits and snapshots. It is possible to take pictures with a wide field of view without moving too far away from the subject, and to create images that emphasize the sense of perspective.

RF35mm F1.4 L VCM
RF35mm F1.4 L VCM

RF35mm F1.4 L VCM

This new RF lens offers far greater freedom of expression and allows users to switch seamlessly between taking still photos and movies. A 35mm lens offers a perspective very similar to the natural field of view of the human eye. With a large, f/1.4 aperture, this is the first in a line of single-focal-length lenses that Canon hopes will foster a new era in photography, enabling even more dramatic artistic expression.
The optical system includes two finely balanced aspherical lens elements to provide high image quality in every corner of the picture. The RF35mm F1.4 L VCM delivers image quality equivalent or superior to that of the EF35mm f/1.4L II USM. The use of two UD lenses helps to reduce color bleeding. By placing more lens elements toward the front of the unit, the lens also helps to suppress sagittal coma flare, which sometimes occurs when shooting with a fully open aperture.
Furthermore, the RF35mm F1.4 L VCM is the first Canon EF/RF lens to incorporate a Voice Coil Motor (VCM). The VCM is an actuator designed to handle heavier lenses. The electronic floating focus control and nano USM work in tandem to provide fast, smooth, and quiet focusing control for even a heavy, large-diameter lens. The mechanism drives each of the two focus lens groups independently, to suppress “breathing” (alterations in the angle-of-view from close-up to infinity). This facilitates stable composition when shooting video footage, and high image quality when shooting close-ups.
The control system features an iris ring to control the aperture when shooting movies. The compact design leverages the strengths of the EOS R system, reducing total weight by approximately 27% compared to the EF35mm f/1.4L II USM.

The 85mm F1.2 lens brings together a range of optical technologies to maximize image quality. This standard, large-aperture, single-focal-length lens delivers high resolution, high contrast, and a rich, beautiful bokeh effect. At the maximum aperture setting the lens delivers crisp resolution in all areas of the image for breathtaking photos. The Blue-spectrum Refractive-optics (BR) lens, Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) lens, and aspherical lens are effectively positioned to reduce chromatic aberration significantly. The lens is also equipped with a Dual Pixel CMOS AF system. The Dual Pixel CMOS AF and optimized lens control enhance AF precision, allowing the photographer to focus only on the target area even with an extremely shallow (f/1.2) depth of field. In addition, Air Sphere Coating (ASC) significantly reduces the possibility of lens flare or ghosting. A dust- and water-resistant* fluorine coating makes it easy to maintain. This lens is one of the most representative of Canon’s portrait lenses.

RF85mm F1.2 L USM DS

Canon’s unique Defocus Smoothing (DS) coating* helps to bring out the subject in portrait photography, helping the RF85mm F1.2 L USM to achieve a more beautiful bokeh effect, without changing the optical system. DS coating is a deposition technology that gradually reduces transmittance by increasingly blocking light radiation from the center to the periphery of the lens. The DS coating softens and blurs the outlines of the subject images, resulting in a smooth and beautiful bokeh effect. In addition, its imaging qualities, the lens also offers the highest level of performance in terms of operability, rigidity, dust- and water-resistance, and other features, delivering comfortable operation and high durability. This lens is ideal for photographers who aim for the highest level in portrait photography.

* The DS coating lower transmittance toward the lens periphery, so lens brightness at maximum aperture is approximately 1⅓ stop darker than at f/1.2. By updating the camera firmware to the latest version, exposure control in AE will operate properly.

RF-S10-18mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM

The RF-S10-18mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM has the shortest focal length of any zoom lens in the RF-S lens lineup. This compact, lightweight lens weighs approximately 150g, and offers an ultra-wide angle of view equivalent to 16-29mm*1 in a 35mm film format. Despite the wide angle of view, it offers an image stabilization effect equivalent to a 4-stop increase in shutter speed*2. This makes it ideal for shooting in tight spaces, where there is no room to step back and capture the entire subject, or when taking selfies where a number of subjects need to be captured in a single frame.
The optical system uses UD and PMo lenses to achieve excellent image rendering performance and compact size, while keeping the number of lens elements to a minimum. The minimum focus distance is 0.14m, and manual focus (MF) mode allows the photographer to get as close as 10cm from the subject. The lens can be attached directly to EOS R series full-frame cameras with no need for a mount adapter.

*1 The 35mm format conversion is equivalent to 1.6x. Focal length in APS-C format is 10-18mm.

This RF lens*1 is part of the “EOS VR SYSTEM” — an integrated package of products that allow creators to capture 3D images and use them to create new and unique image expressions, and 3D experiences, including compatibility with Apple Vision Pro’s “spatial video”. This lens provides images with a texture and three-dimensional feel even in very conventional shooting situations, such as filming a person cooking or doing crafts, or taking pictures of a pet or other small object. Unlike the pseudo-three-dimensional effect created by bokeh and lighting, 3D lenses can produce a realistic image that appears as if the subject is right in front of the viewer. In addition, quick and precise autofocusing is possible, via the same operation as for ordinary RF lenses.
The optical system uses a straight-type optical design without a prism, in order to accommodate the compact 3D lens units with light weight of only 131g. In addition to the short back focus unique to the EOS R system, two UD lenses on each side (a total of four lenses) are effectively arranged to achieve high-quality 3D images. 4K images shot with this lens and the EOS R7 camera can be recorded with a pixel density that exceeds that of 3D 180° 8K images*2.
*1 As of September 2024, this lens is only compatible with the EOS R7 camera body. The firmware of the EOS R7 must be updated to the latest version when using this lens.
*2 Pixel density = number of recorded pixels / angle of view.

EXTENDER RF1.4x

This extender can be used to attach an RF lens to an RF mount camera body, and increase the focal length of the lens by 1.4x (RF1.4x) or 2x (RF2x). In situations where the subject is too far away to capture in the full frame, this extender brings the subject closer. A high refractive index and low-dispersion optical glass materials suppress image curvature and lateral chromatic aberration. The high resolution of a full-size sensor is maintained while expanding the range of shooting opportunities.
A triple-joint lens is used, as well as optimized coating. This minimizes the surface area that comes in contact with the air, to suppress the risk of ghosting. The mount and controls are designed to be dust- and water-resistant. The lens is also coated with a thermal barrier that reflects infrared rays in sunlight and prevents the lens from getting too hot. When the extender is connected, the maximum aperture F value of the lens becomes 1 stop (RF1.4x) or 2 stops (RF2x) larger (ie. “darker”), but the camera will automatically compensate for the exposure.

Note: RF100-500mm F4.5-7.1 L IS USM can be used only in a focal-length range of 300-500mm.

RF24mm F1.4 L VCM

This series of large-aperture, single-focal-length lenses seamlessly links photography and video shooting, for a new generation of visual imaging. The 24mm lens offers a strong sense of perspective, and despite the wide angle of view, the large f/1.4 aperture allows for rich bokeh backgrounds when desired, allowing the photographer to catch the subject in stunningly sharp relief. The lens suppresses “breathing” significantly, so the user can take full advantage of the bokeh effect while recording stable videos, even when the focus shifts.
The optical system features a UD lens that effectively corrects chromatic aberration and a Glass Moulded (GMo) aspherical lens that suppresses various types of aberration and delivers high image quality to the peripheral areas of the image. Two special coatings — Subwavelength Structure Coating (SWC) and Air Sphere Coating (ASC) — are applied to the lens surface to suppress the risk of lens flare and ghosting.
In addition, electronic floating focus control and a Voice Coil Motor (VCM) combined with a Nano USM provides fast, smooth, and quiet autofocusing, despite the bulky girth of this large-diameter lens.
The lens package includes a rear filter holder for attaching sheet-type filters to the rear end of the lens. This can be used to produce various filter effects.
The exterior of the lens is identical to the RF35mm F1.4 L VCM and RF50mm F1.4 L VCM. All measure approximately 99.3mm in length and weigh around 500g. In addition to providing a consistent “feel”, this design makes it easier to switch lenses in the field, and easy to adjust when switching lenses and shooting videos with gimbals. Since the filter diameter of these lenses is also standardized, users can employ the same ø67mm filter even when it is necessary to change lenses.

RF70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM Z

The 70-200m f/2.8 lens supports a wide range of usages from the EF lens era, including sports photography, portraits, landscapes, and news coverage. The RF70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM Z is a hybrid-style zoom lens that seamlessly links photography and movie shooting operations.
Spherical aberration and image distortion are effectively suppressed by the optimal arrangement of the UD aspherical, Glass Moulded (GMo) aspherical, and replica aspherical lenses. These aspherical lens elements, coupled with two Super UD lens elements, deliver high image quality equivalent to that of the RF70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM.
For smoother operation, the lens maintains a fixed total length while zooming, so there is no change to the balance or the center of gravity. An iris ring is provided for manual control of the aperture while recording videos.
This lens is also compatible with the EXTENDER RF1.4x and EXTENDER RF2x, for high-resolution super-telephoto shooting.
The minimum focus distance of the lens at a zoom setting of 200mm is 0.68m.
The lens is available in two colors: black to match the RF24-105mm F2.8 L IS USM Z, and white to match Canon’s telephoto lens series. This zoom lens is an alternative to the popular “70-200mm f/2.8” lens, which is now part of the RF lens lineup.

RF16-28mm F2.8 IS STM

This zoom lens, with a fixed F value of f/2.8, offers new shooting possibilities for still and movie creators with its large-aperture zoom and mobility. The RF16-28mm F2.8 IS STM is a compact, lightweight, ultra-wide-angle zoom lens with a minimum focal length of 16mm and a weight of just 445g (approx.). The advanced optical system delivers high image quality approaching that of L-series lenses. Two high-precision aspherical lenses are used in the front element, to effectively suppress the various types of aberration typical of large-aperture and wide-angle lenses. In addition, the use of four UD lens elements helps to correct chromatic aberration to a degree comparable with that of two fluorite lenses. The result is a lens that delivers sharp and vivid images down to the finest detail.

In addition, an inner-focus and lead-screw-type STM provides fast and precise autofocus for still images, and smooth, quiet AF operation when taking videos. The minimum focus distance is 0.2m, allowing the user to get in close and take macro photos. When used in combination with the maximum aperture of f/2.8, it can achieve a pronounced bokeh effect. The lens also has superior image stabilization (IS) features, which reduce camera-shake blur as effectively as a 5.5-stop increase in shutter speed* at the center of the image. When used together with the coordinated control features of an EOS R-series camera equipped with in-body IS, the image stabilization effect is even greater.

* When used with EOS R camera at a focal length of 28mm. Based on CIPA standards. Effective in the yaw and pitch directions only.

RF-S14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ

The RF-S14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ is the first lens in the RF lens series to provide power zoom as a built-in feature. It is optimized for shooting videos, with features that enhance mobility and operability. This allows the user to easily achieve impressive zoom effects like those in video clips shot by professionals.
When attached to an EOS R50 V camera with a zooming speed adjustment function, this lens allows the user to smoothly zoom (both in and out) at a constant speed. The inner zoom mechanism does not change the overall length of the lens barrel when zooming, thus keeping the camera’s center of gravity nearly constant at all times. Zooming can be performed easily using the zoom ring on the lens, or using the zoom lever*1 and a customized button on the side of the camera body.
The angle of view covers the wide-angle range of approximately 22mm to 48mm (converted to 35mm format). This lens supports a wide variety of video shooting situations, from cinematic movie production to private selfie shooting. It can capture spacious images even in a small room. The image stabilization (IS) performance of the lens is as effective at reducing blur in the center of the frame as a 5.0-stop*2 increase in shutter speed. When attached to a compatible camera equipped with Movie Digital IS or in-body IS, the camera-shake correction even more effective.
With a minimum focus distance of 0.15m and a maximum magnification of 0.38x (at 30mm), the lens is ideal for close-up shots. The ability to capture the details of a subject makes it ideal for shooting full-scale food preparation videos with more “sizzle,” or high-grade product review videos.
This lens offers high image quality that matches that of the EOS R series cameras, for shooting still images. Yet the lens is designed to target photographers who want to enjoy a variety of imaging expression, with an emphasis on producing video clips.

*1 In the case of cameras equipped with a zoom lever.
*2 Based on CIPA standards. When used with EOS R 10 camera at a focal length of 30mm. Effective in the yaw and pitch directions only.

RF20mm F1.4 L VCM

This large-aperture, single-focus lens opens a new era in graphic imaging, seamlessly linking still photos and video shooting. The 20mm wide-angle design offers provides a perspective that surpasses that of human vision. The large f/1.4 maximum aperture allows the user to achieve rich bokeh effects despite the wide-angle field. The lens also features excellent anti-breathing properties, allowing the user to take full advantage of the bokeh effect while shooting video clips, and maintain a sense of stability even as the focus changes.
The optical system of this lens features one Super UD lens element and two UD lens elements positioned optimally to provide fine chromatic aberration correction. In addition, two GMo aspherical lenses are used to suppress spherical aberration and distortion of the image plane, to achieve high image quality even in the periphery of the image. Two special coatings — Subwavelength Structure Coating (SWC) and Air Sphere Coating (ASC) — are applied to the lens surface to suppress lens flare and ghosting.
Although the focal structure of this large-aperture lens is quite heavy, a Voice Coil Motor (VCM) unit delivers fast, smooth, and quiet focusing performance.
A rear filter holder is included in the package, allowing the user to attach a sheet-type filter to the rear of the lens. This can be used to take advantage of various filter effects.
The exterior is identical to that of the RF35mm F1.4 L VCM and other f/1.4 L VCM lenses, all of which measure approximately 99.3mm in length and weigh around 500g. Not only does this ensure that the operability of all these lenses is consistent, but it also makes the lenses easier to use in the field by standardizing things like the adjustments needed when changing lenses or shooting video clips using gimbals. The filter diameter is also standardized, so a single ø67mm filter can match all of the lenses used.
